View Prescription

Clinical users can view prescriptions received from their patient's assigned medical devices using removable media, Modem or Bluetooth-enabled device. Prescriptions transfer into Care Orchestrator each time the application connects to a patient's therapy device using a Modem or Bluetooth-enabled device. When Care Orchestrator establishes a connection using one of these two supported communication interfaces, prescriptions are available and displayed on the Prescription tab of the patient's Patient Detail screen.

Trilogy family device settings transfer into a patient's prescription recording using the Data Card Utilities, but only when the patient is assigned the serial number of the device found on the removable media. The prescription settings will display on the Prescription tab of the patient's Patient Detail screen.

The patient's prescription information is updated to match the current device settings received from the upload from these supported communication interfaces. The Status updates to indicate the location of the transferred information. The Status is an indicator that you can use to manage the patient device settings. The Status reflects the most recent state of prescription settings updates with respect to the patient's therapy device and patient record in Care Orchestrator

In Care Orchestrator, a prescription can be:

Status Description

SENT TO REMOVABLE MEDIA

Prescription written successfully to a removable media.

SENT TO MODEM

Prescription transferred to the device via modem.

SAVED

Created and saved or edited and saved within Care Orchestrator, but not transferred to the device.

DOWNLOADED

If the source is Removable media, the Prescription was created/saved from the removable media data.

If the source is modem, the Prescription was created/saved from modem data.

NEW

Trilogy prescription created for a patient assigned the device, and the settings are received from a Blue-tooth enabled device or removable media.

DELIVERED

Prescription sent successfully to the device.

FAILED

Prescription is sent via modem, but rejected or not delivered to the device.

CHANGED

Existing Trilogy prescription updated from a download from a Bluetooth-enabled device or Removable media.  Note that the device serial number must be assigned to the patient to see the device's settings on the patient's equipment tab.

Note: Be sure to clear the memory of any previously used therapy devices, modems, or removable media, prior to reassigning them to other patients. Consult the documentation included with the therapy device or modem for instructions on clearing its memory. Refer to Clear SD Card to use the Data Card Utilities to clear therapy data and prescription information from removable media.

Warning: Prescription changes should only be made on the order of a licensed physician. Creating or changing a prescription should only be completed by a trained medical professional. A patient’s prescription should be verified as correct before transferring it to the patient's therapy device.

Note: If the prescription update functionality is not available in Care Orchestrator, the provider can manually enter the prescription settings in the therapy device using the instructions for use for the device.

Note: After several minutes of inactivity, your Care Orchestrator session expires. The application asks you to login again to continue working. If your session expires when viewing a prescription, you may see an "Error in prescription application" error when you log into the system. Refresh the page to remove this error.

Note: Users with Trilogy devices can see view-only reports than cannot be edited within Care Orchestrator. See Trilogy Support for more information about additional features for Trilogy devices.

You can view prescription information when therapy data transfers from your assigned medical devices using removable media, Modem or Bluetooth-enabled device. Therapy data and prescription information transfers into Care Orchestrator each time the application connects to your therapy device using one of these devices.

For more information about using removable media with Care Orchestrator, contact your provider.
